
Péter Palóczi took up his post in Stockholm on August 22, 2025. He presented his credentials to King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden on September 30, 2025. Between 2020 and 2025, Péter Palóczi served as Deputy Ambassador at the Hungarian Embassy in London. Prior to that, he was Head of the Secretariat of the Deputy State Secretariat for European and North American Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary. Between 2016 and 2019, he was a diplomat responsible for European and foreign economic affairs at the Hungarian Embassy in Helsinki. Prior to that, he was Head of Secretariat of the Deputy State Secretariat for European Union Affairs at the Prime Minister's Office between December 2014 and February 2016.
Péter Palóczi graduated with a law degree from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest in 2010. He also studied at Humboldt University in Berlin and Andrássy University in Budapest, and gained professional experience at the German Bundestag, the European Parliament, and the Hungarian National Assembly. After graduating from university, he worked at the department for legislative preparations and European Union Affairs at the Ministry of National Development and then at the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice. In 2014, he gained further professional experience at Hungary's Permanent Representation to the European Union in Brussels. Péter Palóczi speaks Hungarian, English, and German. He arrived in Sweden with his wife and their young son and daughter. In his free time, he enjoys cycling and outdoor activities with his family.
