On 7th March 2023, a delegation from the Hungarian Parliament was received by Swedish Speaker Andreas Norlén and Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström.
NATO is vital for our security and the security of Europe, and the enlargement of the defence organisation with Sweden and Finland will strengthen the continent. The ratification of the two Nordic countries has started in the Hungarian Parliament. A strong Europe is based on good cooperation and mutual understanding, which is key for the alliance.
The members of the Hungarian parliamentary delegation, Csaba Hende, Zsolt Németh, Enikő Győri and Ernő Schaller-Baross, had a frank, friendly and forward-looking discussion with the President of the Swedish Parliament, Andreas Norlén, and his distinguished delegation. They discussed the deepening and widening of cooperation between Hungary and Sweden, the ongoing NATO accession, the important role of mutual understanding and the readiness for further dialogue between parliaments.
The Parliament delegation also met with Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström.
