The government of Hungary has declared a National Day of Mourning for Monday, 23rd January to commemorate the victims of the coach accident of the Hungarian school group in Italy 21st January 2017.
The photo exhibition which shows everyday life of soldiers at the front as well as of those left home is a cooperation between the Embassy of Hungary in Sweden, Armémuseum in Stockholm and the Institute and Museum of Military History in Budapest.
The photo exhibition „Freedom First – Hungary 1956”, organized by the Embassy of Hungary, opened at Nybroplan in Stockholm. Ambassador Lilla Makkay, Ms. Márta Mátrai Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly and Mr. Tobias Billström Deputy Speaker of Sveriges Riksdag held opening speeches and lit a candle to commemorate the heroes of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight the Embassy of Hungary held a reception at the Army Museum in the presence of Ms Márta Mátrai, First Deputy of the Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly and Mr. Tobias Billström Deputy Speaker of Sveriges Riksdag.
Besides having fruitful meetings with Swedish politicians and press, Dr. László Szabó visited Ericsson’s main office, had an exquisite Hungarian wine dinner with numerous distinguished guests from the Swedish business sector and participated at a Swedish-Hungarian ICT Brokerage event at the Hungarian Embassy.
