In order to commemorate the Hungarian Armed Forces Day, Ambassador Adrien Müller and Military Attaché Colonel Andrea Gombos hosted a reception at the Hungarian Embassy.

In this year, a number of round anniversaries marked the celebration. We remembered the foundation of the Hungarian Armed Forces that took place on 21 May 1849, exactly 170 years ago. This year we also celebrate that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was founded 70 years ago along with the 20th anniversary of the accession to NATO of Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland. Representatives of the Swedish Ministry of Defence, Swedish Armed Forces, military attachés accredited to Sweden and our partners from the defence industry attended the event. We used this opportunity to bid farewell to our excellent colleague, Assistant Defence Attaché Major Zoltán Tiszai, who, as of this summer, will represent Hungary at another important post.
