Congratulations to Katalin Karikó and Ferenc Krausz!

In 2023, two great scientists will join the ranks of Hungarian Nobel laureates.

Katalin Karikó biochemist won the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with fellow American professor Drew Weissman for laying the foundations for mRNA-based medicine, which has led to the rapid development and practical application of new types of vaccines against Covid-19.

Professor Ferenc Krausz has been awarded the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics, shared equally with Pierre Agostini and Anne L'Huillier, for their experimental methods to study the movement of electrons within the atom by producing attosecond light pulses.
